Stage Aurora Theatrical Company Presents: Harlem of the South

The songs, music, and dance of Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway with James Weldon Johnson.

Harlem Renaissance icons Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday, and Jacksonville’s very own James Weldon Johnson toured the South making Jacksonville one of the stops. Hear such classics as TAKE THE ‘A’ TRAIN, STORMY WEATHER, STRANGE FRUIT and LIFT EV’RY VOICE AND SING. “Harlem of the South: Duke, Ella, and Cab! includes dynamic singers, a dance-a-long, classic musical favorites, and tons of audience participation,” said Director Darryl Reuben Hall. Assisting with the production are Jann Clark and Kenyada Williams. The production will also feature Chae JaQuanda Clements and Ebony Murray last seen in DREAMGIRLS.
