The opportunity to view what many consider "the cream of the crop" in short films, continues this year as the 8th Annual Oscar-Nominated Short Films Fest is set for February 16th & 17th. Hosted by Kate Hart, the festival will again feature all 15 films nominated for Academy Awards for Best Animated, Best Live Action and Best Documentary Short Films, shown in four alternating groups of films. The screenings will include an opportunity for film-goers to pick the films they think will win the Oscar in all three categories. Those who correctly pick the three short films which win Oscars on March 4th will be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to an upcoming stage production at the Amelia Musical Playhouse. Best Animated Short Films The five animated short films, plus three animated films of note, will screen on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 10am and again at 8pm. Best Live Action Short Films The five live-action shorts will screen at 8pm on Friday, Feb. 16 and again at 4:15pm on Saturday, Feb. 17. Best Documentary Short Films The five documentary shorts will be shown in two sessions on Saturday, Feb. 17. Group A films will screen at 11:45am and the Group B films will screen at 2:30pm. Admission to each individual screening session is $10. A Film Fan Pass (good for admission to one screening of each group — a total of four film sessions) is $30. Tickets and passes are available in advance at The UPS Store (located in the Fernandina Beach Publix shopping center). Any remaining tickets and passes will be available for purchase during the festival at AMP. For more information about the festival, e-mail email@example.com
