Auditions: A Little Night Music

Amelia Musical Playhouse will hold auditions for Stephen Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music” on Sunday, March 18. 6:00 pm.

Show dates are:
August 16,17,18,19,23,24,25,26, 2018.

Rehearsals through June will be by appointment. If you wish to audition but cannot come 3/18, contact director Jill Dillingham at 904-277-3455 or Ensemble cast show. Ability to read music is helpful but not required. A beautiful piece for strong singers. All have solos. There is no chorus. Very limited dancing. Please prepare 1 minute of a song of your choice. Songs from the show are permitted. A cappella auditions are discouraged.

Roles are:
Frederick : successful, widowed middle aged lawyer, baritone

Anne: Frederick’s very young and naïve wife- soprano

Henrik: Frederick’s son from first marriage, 20 ish

Desiree: once-successful actress, middle aged, mezzo

Fredrika: teenage daughter of Desiree – mezzo

Madame Armfeldt: Desiree’s mother – 60+ alto

Carl-Magnus Malcolm: middle-aged, baritone

Charlotte Malcolm : mezzo, middle-aged

The Quintet: A group of 2 men and 3 women who act as Greek Chorus.
Ages may vary, soprano, mezzo, mezzo, tenor, baritone
Petra: young (20’s?)servant, mezzo
Non-singing roles: Servants- Frid, Malla Osa, Bertrand
