An Evening of Blues

Florida Theater - Manew Blew and The LadySaturday, September 24, 2016 at 7:30pm

After a performance in July which set attendance records, Manew Blew and Tom Leon and friends will return for another Evening of the Blues at the Amelia Musical Playhouse. Manew and Leon, both French born, are passionate about the blues and inspire that same emotion in their enthusiastic audiences. Manew won the title of “Florida Harmonica Grand Champion” in 2014. Tom plays acoustic guitar and sings. Most recently they have performed at the acoustic sessions at ACT. Saturday night Blew and Leon will play and sing standard and original blues numbers, and may even have some surprise guests!

Manew Blew won the title of “Florida Harmonica Grand Champion 2013-14.” He has played with many Mississippi and Memphis bluesmen and women, including Big Joe Turner, Ms. Nickki, Super Chikan, and Mud Morganfield – the eldest son of Muddy Waters. He will be performing some original material as well.

Tom Leon will play acoustic guitar and play and sing blues standards from Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Robert Johnson, and BB King. He also plays a mean slide guitar!
