Time To Stretch Your Creative Muscles At Amelia Musical Playhouse
Monologues & Storytelling – How to Engage Your Audience: This class is for both actors new to the stage and those with all levels of experience. Students will work on monologues and or storytelling, exploring basic acting skills such as vocal production, movement, dramatic action and text analysis. Students with experience will work on letting go of acting “habits”, taking risks and developing creative discipline. Students will have the opportunity to take part in an Actor’s Showcase on Monday, June 12 at 7 pm. Class meets Mondays from 12 noon to 2 pm. April 24 – June 12
Scene Study – Comedic Timing & Dramatic Pauses: This class is for students with prior acting experience who want to explore in greater depth scene study and the acting process. Students will work on several scenes, both comedic and dramatic. Students will explore what creates humor and how to take emotional risks in dramatic scenes. Students will have the opportunity to take part in an Actor’s Showcase onActor’s Showcase on Monday, June 12 at 7 pm. Class meets Tuesdays, 12 noon – 2 pm. April 25 – June 13

ACTING COACH: Sinda Nichols, (BA, Theatre Arts, University of Minnesota) acts, directs and teaches. Well known for the two very different one woman shows, “The Belle of Amherst” and “The Lady With All The Answers”, she is also the founder of Live Ink Theatre. Sinda enjoys teaching adults of all backgrounds and experience, and guiding actors in a creative process to bring out their best work and most joy.
